• Daxxify
(A long-acting neuromodulator to soften expression lines—especially frown lines between the brows)
What is Daxxify?
DAXXIFY® (daxibotulinumtoxinA-lanm) is an FDA-approved neuromodulator (botulinum toxin type A) used to temporarily improve the appearance of moderate to severe frown lines (glabellar lines) in adults.
Like Botox® and other neuromodulators, it works by relaxing targeted facial muscles that create expression lines.
What does Daxxify treat?
Most commonly:
Frown lines (the “11s” between the eyebrows) — FDA-approved use
In many practices, neuromodulators may also be used in other facial areas based on patient anatomy and goals (these may be considered off-label uses depending on the area and product).
Why we may recommend Daxxify
We may recommend Daxxify when you want:
Longer-lasting smoothing of frown lines (fewer appointments for maintenance)
A natural look with careful, anatomy-based dosing
A good option for patients who “burn through” Botox quickly (fast metabolism / strong muscles)
We’ll help you choose between Botox and Daxxify based on:
Your facial movement patterns
Your goals (preventive vs corrective)
How long you want results to last
Your preferred visit schedule and budget
What to expect during treatment
Treatment typically takes 10–15 minutes
Tiny injections with a very fine needle
You may feel quick pinches; most patients do not need numbing
Little to no downtime—most people return to normal activities the same day
Timeline
Early improvement: 3–5 days
Full effect: 10–14 days
Duration: varies; many patients aim for longer intervals than Botox
Pre-Op Instructions (Before Daxxify)
1 week before (to reduce bruising, if medically safe):
Avoid aspirin and NSAIDs (ibuprofen/Advil®, naproxen/Aleve®) if you can
⚠️ Do not stop prescription blood thinners unless your prescribing clinician instructs you.
Avoid alcohol for 24 hours before treatment
Tell us before treatment if you:
Are pregnant or breastfeeding
Have a neuromuscular condition
Have a history of facial weakness, eyelid droop, or prior complications
Have an active rash/infection near the injection site
Post-Op Instructions (After Daxxify)
For the first 4 hours
Stay upright (avoid lying flat)
Do not rub or massage treated areas
For the first 24 hours
Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas/hot yoga, and facial massage
You may gently wash your face
What’s normal
Mild redness or small bumps for 20–60 minutes
Mild headache or tight feeling (temporary)
Minor bruising (can last a few days)
Call us promptly if
You notice eyelid droop, uneven brows, or concerning asymmetry
You have increasing pain, warmth, swelling, pus, or fever
You develop trouble swallowing, speaking, or breathing (rare—seek urgent care)
Frequently Ashked Questions
Is Daxxify the same as Botox?
They are both neuromodulators (botulinum toxin type A products) used to relax targeted muscles, but Daxxify is often chosen for longer-lasting results for many patients.
How long will my Daxxify results last?
Many patients see results lasting longer than 3–4 months, with some maintaining improvement around 6 months. Your personal duration may be shorter or longer.
Will I look “frozen”?
Our approach is natural movement. We tailor dosing to your facial anatomy and start conservatively for first-time patients.
When will I see results?
Most patients begin seeing improvement within a few days, with full results by about 2 weeks.
Can I switch between Botox and Daxxify?
Often yes. We can help you choose the best option each visit based on how your body responds and your scheduling preferences.
Does it hurt?
Most people describe it as quick pinches. The needles are very small and treatment is fast.
What are the most common side effects?
Temporary injection-site reactions, headache, and (less commonly) eyelid droop can occur.
Who should avoid Daxxify?
It may not be appropriate if you are pregnant/breastfeeding, have certain neuromuscular disorders, or have infection at the injection site. We review your history to ensure safety.
