Our Financial Policy
To make your visit smooth and stress-free, here are a few important things to know about billing and insurance at Innovative Dermatology:
We bill your insurance as a courtesy when we participate with your plan.
Payment for your portion (copay, deductible, or coinsurance) is due at the time of service.
Insurance coverage varies, so patients are responsible for any services not covered by their insurance plan.
Cosmetic treatments are typically not covered by insurance and are self-pay services.
Self-pay patients pay on the day of their visit.
We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, check, and cash.
If you have questions about your insurance or billing, our team is happy to help.
Financial & Insurance Policy
At Innovative Dermatology, we strive to make high-quality dermatologic care accessible and transparent. The information below explains how insurance, payments, and billing work at our practice.
Insurance Coverage
We are happy to help you maximize your insurance benefits.
As a courtesy to our patients, Innovative Dermatology will submit claims to your insurance carrier when we participate with your plan. However, please understand that your insurance policy is a contract between you, your employer, and your insurance company. Therefore, the patient is ultimately responsible for all charges associated with their care.
If requested and applicable, we can help obtain a pre-estimate of insurance benefits prior to treatment. Please note that insurance estimates are not guarantees of payment, and final coverage decisions are determined by your insurance company.
For treatments that occur over multiple visits, we may request payment of the patient portion during the course of treatment.
If you have questions regarding your benefits, our knowledgeable staff is happy to assist you.

Referrals
Some insurance plans require a referral from your primary care physician before seeing a specialist.
Please verify with your insurance provider whether a referral is required prior to your appointment. The contact number for your insurance company is usually listed on the back of your insurance card.
Understanding Your Insurance Benefits
Insurance plans vary widely in what they cover.
Before your visit, we encourage patients to contact their insurance provider to confirm:
Covered dermatology services
Deductibles and co-payments
Referral requirements
Coverage for procedures or treatments
Patients are responsible for any services or procedures that are not covered by their insurance plan.
Cosmetic Procedures
Most cosmetic dermatology procedures are not covered by medical insurance.
Examples include:
Laser hair removal
Spider vein treatments
Neuromodulators (such as Botox®)
Dermal fillers (such as Restylane®)
These services are typically self-pay treatments.
Self-Pay Patients
We welcome patients who do not have insurance or who choose to pay directly for services.
Self-pay patients include individuals who:
Do not currently have health insurance
Are receiving treatments not covered by insurance
Prefer to pay directly for cosmetic services
Payment for self-pay services is due at the time of your visit.
Payment Policy
Payment is due at the time services are provided.
For patients with participating insurance plans, the estimated patient portion (copay, deductible, or coinsurance) is collected at the time of the appointment.
If you have questions regarding your payment responsibility, please contact our office.
